The Committee develops the following activities:
- Promoting the creation and strengthening of formal mechanisms for civil participation in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of Brazilian human rights foreign policy;
- Creating opportunities for articulation and dialogue between the various governmental and non-governmental actors involved in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of Brazilian human rights foreign policy;
- Promoting human rights and foreign policy education activities, with a view to qualifying the various actors involved in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of this policy; ;
- Producing and disseminating information on the preparation and handling of Brazilian human rights foreign policy in order to make it more widely known and transparent. .
At the beginning of each year, the Committee will define, in its annual planning session, the scope of its objectives for that year. Since its inception, the Committee has developed projects linked primarily to the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the Southern Common Market, and the incorporation of international human rights norms and treaties.
